Project Description
Wynnum Stone Courtyard.
Courtyards have been around for thousands of years, the earliest recorded ones appearing in Iran approximately 5,000 years ago. Their appeal of merging the indoor life with the open spaces and the blurring of those two concepts are dovetailed in the concept of the courtyard. Stone as an architectural feature lends itself to be implemented in a courtyard, it is hard wearing, lends aesthetic strength and form, and is perfectly juxtaposed against the flourishing softscapes of the complementary plantings.
Peaceful Urban Space
Urban areas lend themselves to having a secluded and peaceful space created, and the outdoor room featured in this design, with the stone structures setting the focus, appeals as a place of meditation and contemplation. Some gentle area lighting, and thoughtfully placed pieces of outdoor furniture offer more types of comfort and contentment.
