Hawthorne Pool and Landscape.

This inner city residence required a landscape to match the modern house. Located on a small block with an existing pool, the challenge was to modernize the existing pool and provide the residents with a private and elegant space for entertaining and relaxing. The team decided on a modern and elegant design. unique The pool was renovated and finished with new travertine stone tiles.

The addition of the pool pergola gives the pool connection to the house and broader landscape. The use of vertical spotted gum posts and corten laser screen roof provides a richness and contrast in color to both the pool and the planting pallet. Using the pool arbor as the pool deck area for lounges also enabled the side of the pool to become a level lawn area that compliments the pool elegantly.

The challenge of the neighbors water flowing into the pool was addressed with simple contour banks planted to add privacy and interest. Street appeal needed to addressed. The team retained as much as possible of the existing front wall and gave it a makeover using beautiful stone cladding which complimented the color of the house and existing tiles.

The existing central feature of the large Pandanus was drawn upon as inspiration to create an artistic space with stone clad walls and modern art light boxes. The Pandanus was enhanced by new plantings, reminiscent of coastal lifestyle. The entrance was transformed and the street appeal became very intriguing
